The small village of Platani is located a mere 3 kms West of Kos Town It is a very picturesque «old-fashioned» village with a few hundred residents, all of them of Turkish origin. It is to them that the village owes the name «Kermetes».
The main attractions are the traditional taverns with their delicious dishes, based on recipes coming from Asia Minor. It is a place you should definitely visit, as the culinary delights really stand out, there's nothing like it on the whole island, but just make sure you have worked up an appetite... and don't forget to try some of the sweets...
