The village on Emporeio is a picturesque mountain village situated near the main crossroad of the island. A large part of the village has been abandoned and you will see quite a few crumbling houses. Still, the ones still standing have retained their traditional feel and Medieval characteristics and will certainly delight you. Emporeio is built on top of a mountain and the Castle of Pantoniki dominates at its peak. The wonderful view of the Caldera is an amazing sight and I would urge you to enjoy a nice refreshment at the "Balcony of Emporeio".
