The early Christian Basilica of Aghios Pavlos is situated on the right hand side of the main road just after Zipari on the way to Kos Town. The Basilica is linked to St Paul who is said to have stayed on the island. This is a pretty large Basilica with a significant part still intact. It comprises three naves, beautiful mosaics on the floor and the remains of a baptistery in its center which can be clearly recognized. It dates back to the 5th or 6th century A.D.
