The Hajji Hasan Mosque is situated in Lotzia Square, Kos Town, behind the plane tree of Hippocrates. It has two floors and an impressive minaret and was built by the administrator of Kos Gazi Hassan (after whom it took it's name) around 1786. The Mosque was allegedly built on the remains of the Byzantine church of St George.
